RESPER – Extension

This extension adds the RESPER functionality to EUCARIS, and is deployed by EUCARIS System Updates. General information about system Updates can be found here.

Requirements

This extension requires:

• an installation of EUCARIS release 7 running on Windows server 2003/2008 using Microsoft SQL Server (all editions) or Oracle (all editions).
• System Update SU-U60-1 or higher
• the latest version of the EUCARIS Configuration tool installed on the EUCARIS server.

Web client plugin

This extension installs a web client plugin for the default EUCARIS web client. Add authorised users to the overall ´RESPER Users´ Windows Group to use this web client plugin.

Service plugin

This extension installs the required service plugin and adds the RESPER services, authorisation, logging, and XSDs to the EUCARIS core. After installation EUCARIS is able to receive and transfer RESPER messages.

Installation

The required System Update must be installed prior to the installation of this extension. The installation process is described in detail in the “EUCARIS – Installation and Operation Manual.pdf” document, available on this site. To be able to communicate with countries directly connected to the EC Central Hub, the EUCARIS Broker Core Components and EUCARIS Broker RESPER extension must be installed on the same or on a separate system. These components are included in the EUCARIS Core and in this extension.

Upgrade notes

This is a cumulative update. Any previous System Updates do not have to be uninstalled prior to this update. Any existing translated languages, local services configuration, user profiles and logging configuration is retained.

Configuration

This update automatically checks for the latest available Configuration Update. If there is a new Configuration Update available, it will be downloaded and installed. If no newer Configuration Update is available, the latest downloaded Configuration Update is re-applied to assure the correct configuration for this new extension.

Known issues

None.

The NL test & acceptance server will be available for testing RESPER messages. Please contact EUCARIS Operations if you want to start testing.

• Fixed issue where the Secure Message subject field is longer than 50 characters and therefor gets rejected by the EC Central Hub. Subject lines are now truncated to a maximum of 50 characters .
• Fixed issue with explicit time zone notation in elements received from the EC central hub. The type xs:date may contain time zone information (2015-01-29Z or 2015-01-29+01:00). Some of these elements are defined in EUCARIS as yyyymmdd. The broker, however, translates ‘2015-01-29Z’ to ‘20150129Z’, resulting in a XML validation error.
• RESPERstatistics collection now denotes the Date/Time stamp of the logging in stead of the Date/Time stamp contained in the message. This should prevent issues with missing time-zone information in the time stamp element in the messages.

• Added feature to enable malware scanning of Secure Message attachments.
  • Note: With the introduction of the possibility to scan for malware, the SecureMessageAck message may contain an AckStatusCode = 21 (VirusOrMalwareDetected) if the recipient country detects malware in the attachments of the sender country. This AckStatusCode is unknown in the previous versions of this extension, and will cause an XML validation error (which is logged in the application event log) in both the sender- and recipient country. This will result in an automated retry of the message in intervals (with a maximum interval of 24 hrs), as long as the sender country has not upgraded to the latest version of this extension. Although this situation is temporary and self-repairing once sender and recipient country are on the latest version, there might be some extra (repeating) messages in the event log in the case of detected malware.

  • All messages: Tightened date validation.
  • On all date fields, a pattern validation is applied. This pattern will accept all full, valid dates formatted CCYYMMDD (which is the format dates already had), between 19000101 and 29991231.
  • Invalid or incomplete dates are rejected. Examples of dates that were accepted in the past, but will now be rejected : 20160431, 20150229 (the pattern knows about leap years, so it will accept 20160229), 991231 (date without century), 0, 00000000 or 99999999.
• Bugfix EUCARIS broker: Corrected error in conversion of AdditionalCategoryStatuses code 2.
• Bugfix Secure message, EUCARIS web client. If the message “Too many messages found” is given, it does not help to adjust the query, the same message will be given over and over again. Fixed this.
