The configuration of the EUCARIS peer-to-peer network is centrally administrated and distributed. This system is also known as “Configuration Update”. A published configuration update can make a number of common and specific changes to EUCARIS and is environment specific, meaning a configuration update can be published separately for both the ‘Acceptance’ and ‘Production’ EUCARIS installations. Changes that can be made by Configuration Updates include:
- IP addresses and URL’s of all member states’s EUCARIS services
- PKI (certificate) related configurations
- Authorisations
- Member state definitions
- Default logging
EUCARIS Operations releases the Configuration Updates for the production environment. Configuration Updates are downloaded and installed using the latest version of the EUCARIS Configuration tool. Installing a Configuration Update is relatively easy and is normally performed by your local system administrator. It is possible to automatically download and install the latest available Configuration Update scheduled and unattended if desired.
For more information regarding the Configuration Update, please refer to the “EUCARIS – Installation and Operation Manual” documentation available via this link.
With the introduction of a new EUCARIS Architecture (a.k.a. EUCARIS V8) a new type of Configuration Updates has been introduced.
Up-to-date means that ànd the most recent V6 ànd the most recent V8 Configuration Updates are installed on a member states EUCARIS Production environment.
