ProDriveNet stands for Professional Drivers Network. This is an enforcement network, based on Art. 11 of Directive 2022/2561 (on the initial qualification and periodic training of drivers of certain road vehicles for the carriage of goods or passengers).
Professional drivers must possess a Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC), either issued on a driving licence (code 95) or on a driver qualification card. Via ProDriveNet, it is possible to check for issued CPC. This can be done in one specific Member State, e.g. the Member State that issued the driver qualification card, or as a broadcast to all Member States connected to the network.
The request message contains the identification of a professional driver (name and date of birth) and/or the identification of a driving licence, and/or a driver qualification card number. A Member State receiving a request message, searches for the driver and/or the driving licence and/or the number of the driver qualification card. It reports all drivers found, for which CPC has been issued. The response message contains the name and address of drivers found, and details of the last issued CPC.
Optionally, it is possible to provide a complete history of issued CPC. Optionally, it is also possible to provide information on specialised training skills (such as dangerous goods handling, or handling of livestock).
